Gator Swim Team
JLCC Gators were established in the summer of 2014. Our colors are green and navy blue. We started with approximately 30 swimmers and have grown to a team of about 70 swimmers ages 4-18. There are 6 regular meets in a season with a Championship meet, a week after the last meet.
Our second swim season, we added our Mini-Mite program where young swimmers (usually 4-7) who are new to swimming and not quite ready for the team, can participate in their own practice with the goal of joining the main team. Often, these swimmers will improve enough to participate in at least one meet that season.
We work on building individual skills through a "team" attitude filled with positive reinforcement, one-on-one attention, peer assistance and a huge focus on good sportsmanship. The swimmers know the coaches philosophy, "The coaches are our 'assistant coaches' and the Head Coach lies in each swimmer, for it is the swimmer's determination that gets us down the pool".
